The Uk is finally facing the challenges we face here in south Africa, except for one point and that is the cost ration compared to what one earns. Here it is a lot higher compared to the basic salary.

We have been "paying" for it since the beginning, and to be honest I think one values it a lot more when you have to pay for it yourself. True I had to take out a student loan but it was worth it. both sides are valid, but why must tax payers end up paying for slackers that just dont care?

I must say that when I did a three month cource in the UK as part of my studies I never really saw all the fuss....

Now that I am back and doing my Masters... trust me you count every penny.

Shops are changing their systems now so to receive student discount you need a card with an expiry date – but don't panic! A 16-25 Railcard has such an expiry date, and can be used as a student card in most retail outlets.

Would I be comfortable revealing my location at any given moment to the world? No I would not! No, no, no. And is this one step closer to the Big Brother society? No, it is not - becaise it is already here.

CCTV cameras are already watching us 24 hours a day, now Facebook are supporting the 'Authorities' in keeping tabs on us, and making money out of it! Incredible!

My advice to any of the younger members of our society (and it is mostly younger people) who are tempted in to Facebooks latest idea on how to get even more of your personal informations on record: Don't.

Shame it doesn't work the same way as foursquare, if you checked in to a location enough it made you “the mayor” and some companies had a partnership with foursquare where they would give you discounts/freebies when you checked in
