Never a person to put up my hand and offer information in classes at school, the idea of being put on the spot and being expected to contribute a substantial amount of intelligent insight each week, sometimes twice a week, was almost too much for me. Read the full article View CommentsIn our opinion the exclusive NUS discounts have got better over the last couple of years, but they're still not good enough to justify buying their card unless you'll be shopping at certain places fairly regularly. So hold back, wait until you've been at uni for a few weeks and see if you'll actually be able to make use of the offers before you actually buy one.

He’s the bedroom music geek who’s somehow managed to single-handedly bring back the stadium dj status, and along with the Swedish House Mafia is bringing dance music to the masses once again. His mouse-mask has had a futuristic overhaul, and he’s now rocking out to a brand new stage show which looks to us like a newer take on the Daft Punk pyramid (We’re not sure which one is actually cooler yet). Check out his biggest UK tour to date this winter, covering Bournemouth, Leeds, Manchester, Coventry, Glasgow and London with support from the likes of Zane Lowe, Magnetic Man, Calvin Harris and the Stanton Warriors …

The Internet is full of lists of things that you should bring to university, and a lot of it seems very obvious. Toothbrush? Er, yes. But what about the more unusual items? This is by no means an exhaustive list of things you need to take to uni, and there will always be the annoying bits you forget and need to buy, but it should help you on your way.
I’ll let you in on a secret. Some of my best nights out at university were the cheapest. Some of the best nights out at uni I didn’t spend a single thing.
